The concept of Psychological Safety is becoming more and more well-known among HR professionals and managers – however, knowing the concept and creating a culture of safety are quite apart.
Creating Psychological Safety is one of – if not the most important – leadership tasks today. It is definitely the key to growth (and often survival) in a changing and uncertain world, and in the hybrid corporate operation.
Our program approaches Psychological Safety as a key factor for high team performance as well as the essential condition for a culture of experimentation and learning. Without it, innovation, engagement and growth can hardly be imagined today.
During the program we examine what might be behind the lack of Psychological Safety in the team, how the leaders themselves may generate unsafety with their own behavior, and what are the typical symptoms and consequences of organizational silence.
The training delves into four key aspects of fostering Psychological Safety as a leader.
First, how to encourage contribution so people feel safe speaking up. Second, how to create psychologically safe meetings, a crucial space where safety can be built or broken.
Third, how to handle failures and, more importantly, cultivate a learning culture.
Finally, what daily routines leaders can introduce to strengthen Psychological Safety. The program concludes with a concrete individual action plan for implementation.
What makes the training special is that this complex and difficult topic is discussed with the participants through a comprehensive case study. The case study follows the management team of a 5-star hotel on the Côte d’Azur through various positive and negative situations. Participants analyze these scenarios and propose ways to enhance psychological safety for teams and the organization.
