Team Sociomapping® is a unique and cutting-edge tool for developing and assessing communication, cooperation, cohesion and collaboration within working teams. It is exceedingly suitable to analyze the current and optimal relationships within top managerial teams, important project teams, or even the whole organization, and to present the results along multiple aspects. In return, the results provide bases for the creation of a comprehensive development programme.
Team Sociomapping® is based on cross evaluation and judgment of individual team members. The online questionnaire – that usually contains 4-8 questions – is filled in by every member of the team, evaluating the working relations among each other along certain aspects (such as communication or cooperation). Filling in the questionnaire requires about 15 minutes, while upon request, Real Time Sociomapping is also available. In this case participants fill in the questionnaire during the workshop, thereby saving considerable preparation time and can also enjoy observing the real time formation of the maps. These data are used to generate several 3-dimensional Sociomaps, visualizing the current and desired situation of the team, along the selected aspects of communication and cooperation in an easily interpretable way. These maps will be the basis of exploration of team dynamics and discussions on how to reach the desired, most effective team collaboration.
It is an action oriented development method, and results in actions can be implemented immediately. By engaging all team members in the process everybody will be committed to deliver on the agreed actions. On the workshop, participant discuss the gap between the current and the desired way of the team’s operation. Individual, mutual and team level action plans are created to improve the cooperation. The map provides an objective picture of subjective opinions, hence it is a great way to utilize it as a basis to increase team performance.
